Where do I see myself in ten years? Thinking about this question gave me a chance to analyze my goals, wishes, and ambitions. In ten years I know I want the basic things of life, love, family, and happiness and the opportunity to pursue my dreams. I will have been blessed with having children with my sweetheart of fifteen years. I will be employed by a top tier company. I will own my own business, reside in another state and own property all over the country. Children have always been important to me.
Since I can remember I have always wanted to be a mother. I decided to wait until marriage to start a family, but once married we focused on building a secure future together. I believe I will be an excellent mother, giving my children all the love and affection I can give. I will enjoy being a soccer mom, taking the kids to all of their extracurricular activities. I am going to be the best mother, being supportive and tending all of my children’s needs and wants. Although children are important to me, I do not intend to be a stay at home mother.

I have always known I would be employed in an office environment, and have always been fascinated by computer software. Having earned my degree in software engineering several years prior from the University of Michigan, I will work at a Fortune 500 company. My office will be on the top floor with valet parking, a corporate spending account and freedom to work from home if I choose. While working for this Fortune 500 Company, I will continue my education, earning my master’s degree, and later my doctorate. Certainly, in ten years I will own my own business.
I love to bake and decorate cakes, make jewelry, and plan events. I also love weddings, from the planning to the ceremony to the reception. My first choice for a business is a bakery, which will be the most desired cakes, not only for the taste, but for the exquisite designs. My main clientele for the bakery business will be engaged couples, from there, I will introduce jewelry and event planning and take my business to an unimaginable level. Additionally, when I complete my degree in software engineering I plan to move back to North Carolina.
When I was 22 years old I moved to North Carolina to live with my aunt and go to school. One year later my aunt left North Carolina to move to Texas to pursue another job opportunity. My choices were to remain in North Carolina or move back to Detroit, I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. I was 24 years old, had my own apartment, brand new car, and loved being independent from my family. In North Carolina the weather, except for the occasional ice storm, has a very mild climate and the streets and highways are not littered with debris.
Lastly, I currently own my home and enjoy owning a home. However, when I travel I like to have my own space. Although my permanent address will be in North Carolina, I will own property all over the country. I will definitely own a home in Florida, not too far from Disneyworld, so I can go at anytime. I have never been to Texas or Las Vegas, but would like to own a home in one of these places because they are both warm year-round. I’m not certain where else I would like to own a home that is to be discovered while traveling cross country in the motor home.
In conclusion, ten years from now I see myself still married to the same person with one or two children. I will have a very high-paying unstressful career with a Fortune 500 company. My business will be the most lucrative and innovative bakery and event planning business ever. My family’s base will be in North Carolina. All of my free time will be spent traveling the country in my motor home to find the next property I want to purchase. Simply stated, in ten years I see myself living a very comfortable, leisurely life.
